How it works:
Tap-to-pay cards use secure contactless technology to transmit your payment information to the reader when held within a few inches.

How to use a contactless debit card:

  1. Look for the contactless symbol (four curved lines like a Wi-Fi symbol) on your debit card and the checkout card reader.
  2. When prompted, tap your card on or near the symbol, which is usually on top of the reader.
  3. Wait for confirmation – this should be a beep, green light, check mark, or “approved” screen message.
  4. Note:  Your card still works with its swipe or chip if the store doesn’t accept tap to pay.
