Make purchases directly from your personal checking account anywhere MasterCard® is accepted. Your Debit Card is accepted more readily than checks and saves you the hassle of carrying cash or your checkbook. You can easily view transactions online, through your mobile app, and receive text alerts* when you use your card. Purchases are deducted directly from your checking account.  Get cash anytime from ATMs when you’re on the go.

Fraud Protection

Your security is foremost here at Peoples Bank.  You will receive a text if a suspicious transaction is detected on your debit card.  The text will offer basic information about the transaction.  If it's your transaction, simply reply "yes" and you can carry on with your purchases.  If it's not your transaction, reply "no", and you'll receive a message with a number to call for further action.  It's quick, easy, and lets you stay confident while using your Peoples Bank debit card.  And don't worry - if you miss our texts, the Fraud Department will call you. 

Lost or Stolen Card

Please report lost or stolen cards right away.  During normal business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, call Customer Care at 815-936-7600. After business hours, please call 1-800-554-8969.  Stop by any location of Peoples Bank and we can re-issue a new debit card to you instantly.

Turn Off & On Your Debit Card

The Peoples Bank mobile app gives you the ability to control debit card activity.  To turn your card off, simply sign into the mobile app.  Tap on “Cards” at the bottom of the screen.  Toggle the “Card is ON” switch to the left to turn it off.  This is an important feature to be aware of.

Notify the Bank of Upcoming Travel

Going on vacation?  Please call Customer Care at 815-936-7600 to let them know your travel date and destination.  We'll share this information with our fraud detection service, so you can use your card seamlessly while you are away.  You can also self-manage travel plan notification through your mobile app as follows:

  1. Login to your mobile app
  2. Tap Cards at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll down and under Manage Card you will tap on Manage Travel Plans
  4. Follow the prompts under Add Travel Plan and you'll be all set
